POTM (nov 2012): 1 Pound

I like pic of the month because it’s one of the few places on my blog where I don’t have to talk about myself. Unless it’s a stupid picture, then everyone will say:

“YOU”,

who me?,

“YES, YOU SEAN!”

“WHY DID YOU SHOW US SUCH A DUMB PICTURE!”

Then it will become about me pretty quickly.

Anyway, this month I’ve avoided another footballing picture for a couple of reasons.

Actually, there is really only one reason i chose this months picture: IT’S HILARIOUS!

The most fun you can have with a pound!

I chuckle every time I see this. I think it’s priceless – Ya see what I did there? 😉

It does beg the question, is there anything funner you can do with a pound?

Here is a list of other things you could do with a pound:

  • Buy a candy bar (Close, but no cigar)
  • Ride the ferris wheel (no)
  • Buy a lottery ticket (possible, but unlikely)
  • Put 1/4 gallon of gas in your car (fun for about 6.349 miles)
  • Get a train ticket to Ilkley or Guiseley (umm, really?)
  • Make a little kid happy (until they swallow it)
  •       – He’s poopin by the pound! haha ok that’s funny
  • Ask for change (for a pound, be serious)
  • Tip the bartender (yea for like 1 beer = no fun)
  • Go to a public bathroom in the UK at least 3 times
  • Sadly, you can’t even buy a coffee for that these days

I think we have a clear winner here.

That’s just my opinion, if you can think of something funner to do, let me know and I’m happy to give it a try!

As always, a little reminder to use your head-first when you spend pounds!

God Bless,

Seano

POTM (Oct 2012): Big heads USA

The second installment of pic of the month (POTM) is here! Calm down, calm down, I know it’s exciting.

Contrary to what you may all be thinking (and some even hoping), it’s a PICTURE of the month and not some priceless emerald from deep down in the cavernous netherworld of a nostril!

Now that that’s clear and we can breathe easy(er), we can move on to this months image!

The image is relevant for this month because the USA recently qualified for the final round of World Cup Qualifying off of a two goal performance by the man featured here.

Also, it’s an image that fully exemplifies the “head first” motto that we got going on this blog.

Lastly, it’s fitting because it’s an image of a man considered to be one of the best Americans to ever play the game in England, which is of course the current environment for my football endeavors.

Dempsey: two goals two heads…makes sense

You have just scored two goals against Guatemala in World Cup Qualifying to ensure that the USA move on to the next stage, one step closer to the World Cup 2014 in Brazil. What do you do?

Well, of course, grab the nearest giant head of yourself making an angry face and parade around the field for all to see! Pretty sweet. Props to the guy who made this sign.

I would say that you have probably made it on the big stage when random people make giant signs of your ugly mug because they love you. Let’s face it, if you’re an American soccer fan, you love Clint Dempsey. I do.

Now, I’m sure some people have plenty of not so nice things to say about him. Yet, when his haters taunt him and tell him he’s too arrogant, too cocky and won’t be able to fit his big-head through the door, he can smile and say: “you’re absolutely right!”.

Go USA – Don’t tread on me.

Till the next pic,

Take care and don’t be afraid to dive-in head first (cause if you mess one up now you’ve got another one).

God Bless,

Seano

Pic of the month! Sept 2012

I’ve decided each month I am going to pick a pic that I like and share it on my blog! It will most likely be a soccer shot, but if I find something that I really like on a different topic, it will get the vote. I’ll also try to give you a little information about the picture’s background, including who or what’s in it and why I like it.

I will make it diverse as possible…in other words, I’ll make sure its not always of a Manchester United player, or something biased like that! Don’t worry I will refrain from putting up any pictures off me flexing my calves as well!

The picture this month is actually what gave me the idea in the first place. It is a shot of my old Saint Francis University teammate Wayne posted to facebook. Here you go:

Wayne-kwondo!

Impressive! I know. Wayne is a remarkable athlete. He’s a small fellow, but could probably jump over himself with ease, if that were possible. On top of that, he’s one of those players who is so fast that you have to foul him while you can still touch him if you want any chance at all. He sneaks up on big defenders and swipes the ball off of them before they even knew he was there. Not to mention he can score a good few goals as well.

Now, in reference to this picture in particular, I have no idea how he ended up on this guys shoulders? It looks more like Jackie Chan move than anything, which makes it even sweeter. I can’t imagine the opponent would have been expecting a sweaty groin in his face when he woke up this morning. But hey, when was life ever predictable. Not that I care, I’m a SFU fan, so more power to you Wayne! Thanks for the pic.

Let me know what you think about pic of the month?!?!

God bless and don’t be afraid to dive in head first (unless it’s into a sweaty groin like this guy).
